Empire Maine Coons

Ethical Breeding

Being an ethical breeder is not a title we claim — it is a standard we prove through every decision, every litter, and every family we welcome into our world.

Health First, Always

Every breeding cat undergoes comprehensive genetic screening for HCM, SMA, PKD, and other heritable conditions. Clean health clearances are non-negotiable — we never compromise on this.

Preservation Breeding

We are stewards of the Maine Coon breed, not just breeders. Every pairing is planned to preserve genetic diversity, structural integrity, and the temperament that makes this breed extraordinary.

Home-Raised, Always

Our kittens are born and raised inside our homes — never in cages, kennels, or isolated rooms. They grow up surrounded by family life, sounds, children, and other animals from day one.

No Early Placements

Kittens stay with us until at least 12–14 weeks. This is not negotiable. Full weaning, litter training, and social confidence come first — always before any placement.

Lifetime Support

Our relationship with your family does not end at pickup. From nutrition to behavior to health questions — we are here for the life of your cat, not just the sale.

Full Transparency

We welcome questions, scrutiny, and detailed conversations. Our practices are an open book. If a breeder cannot show you how their cats live, that is your answer.

We do not breed cats. We steward a legacy of health, beauty, and companionship that spans generations.

Red Flags to Watch For

Whether you adopt from us or from another breeder, these are warning signs that should give you pause. A reputable breeder will never pressure you, hide their practices, or rush a placement.

  • Kittens available immediately with no waitlist
  • No mention of health testing or genetic screening protocols
  • Refuses all visual verification — no video, no photos, no transparency
  • Multiple breeds available at all times
  • Placement before 12 weeks of age
  • No contract or health guarantee offered
  • Prices far below market without explanation
  • Pressure to decide quickly or lose your spot
